Today retrieval environments do not provide adequate support for interactive retrieval sessions consisting of several progressively modified queries. The classical retrieval measures also fail in interactive retrieval scenarios with multiple queries. The main objective of the project is the development of models and methods to support retrieval sessions and their application and evaluation in real, interactive retrieval environments. For this purpose, retrieval sessions must be qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. Also new methods to support interactive retrieval sessions need to be developed and evaluated.
